Tuesday Update on Crash The Kitty

Angela has good news about Crash! Crash is well on the mend. Last week was touch and go for the adventurous kitty but since he made it through the weekend, his prognosis is hopeful. Crash has a good appetite, he wants to play, and he is not on any pain medication. Way to go Crash!

Friday Update

Dr. Rachel called today, and Edmund came out of surgery okay. Only one leg needed a pin the other has begun to heal. What a blessing!! And the breaks were not as bad as the original x-rays indicated. Yeah!

BUT.. and here is the large BUT

When they removed the bandages today, they realized he had a hernia. Not just any kind of hernia, but his intestines were down inside the leg area hernia. Dr. Rachel did her best to put things back where they belong. She may have to go back in and add a screen to re-inforce the area. Not much muscle was available to repair. This was all caused from the accident. Poor little guy. He will be staying at the vet for the weekend.

Crash Needs Surgery

Crash, our Indianapolis Kitty, is scheduled for surgery as the break in his leg is so severe that pins cannot be used. Instead, the vet will use wire to reconnect and hold together the bones in Crash's legs. Our prayers are with you Crash.

Edmund got his bandages changed yesterday, couldn't resist sending over a photo. It looks like he has little pants on.

We are using a small newborn size diaper, and so far it is working great at catching poop and urine.

He is a great little guy, doesn't complain much, just wants lots of love, food and water!

Indianapolis Kitty Needs Help!

Crash the 8 week old Indianapolis Kitty decided to try out a new Mustang. Unfortunately, sleeping on the engine was NOT a good idea. This poor kitty's legs got caught in the fan belt and the result was severe. Crash has two severely broken legs and a 6 week recovery in store. Southside Shelter desperately needs donations to offset Crash's medical expenses. Please consider donating.
